What's eLAIX all about?

an OpenOffice.org extension that allows you to convert text documents (also Word documents) into an ILIAS learning module within seconds. After the conversion an exported eLAIX package can be imported into ILIAS as a ready to go learning module. After the import, a learning module created by eLAIX is fully editable within ILIAS. Since eLAIX has been completely written in OpenOffice Basic, it is available for all platforms that are supported by OpenOffice.org, mainly Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

eLAIX is free software, released under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL).

With eLAIX you can

  • create ILIAS learning modules without the need of beeing online,
  • structure, format and arrange content with the help of 35 toolbar buttons,
  • transfer a document to an ILIAS compatible learning package with a mouseclick.
  • transfer existing documents like MS Word documents to the ILIAS platform,
  • use a single document for multiple purposes (pdf, DocBook, doc, html, xml, etc.)
